Peterborough County OPP – Male Drowns After Swimming Incident On Cavendish Lake

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist after a swimmer failed to surface after jumping in to Cavendish Lake Saturday night shortly before 10:30pm.  

 A male was jumping off a dock with three friends when he failed to surface. The friends contacted emergency services and searched for the male. The Trent Lakes Fire Department located the male in the water and initiated CPR.

Ryan TAYLOR (age 20) of Whitechurch-Stouffville, Ontario was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased was transported to The Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post mortem examination.
