Durham Police – Fraud Call Leads To Multiple Charges

Two males and a female are facing multiple charges after attempting to use a fraudulent credit card at a Clarington business.

On Wednesday July 10, 2019, police were called to Easthill Outdoors in Orono after the clerk reported someone was attempting to use a fraudulent credit card to make a large purchase.

Police arrived and located two suspects in the store and one in a waiting vehicle. All three were arrested and officers located a quantity of drugs and fraudulent identification inside the vehicle.

Paul RAMIREZ, age 33, of Delfi Road in Mississauga is charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3); Fraud Under $5,000; Personation to Gain Advantage; Unlawfully Sell or Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3) and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Sandeep TAKHAR, age 33, of Rochefort Street in Kitchener is charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3) and Fraud Under $5,000.

Alexis TODD, age 25, of No Fixed Address is charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3). She was released on a Promise to Appear.
