Northumberland OPP – Changes To The Request For Criminal Record Checks

Adjustments to Schedule of Fees

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to advise the public that effective July 1, 2019, in increase in fees has occurred for those requesting copies of various police documents or requiring fingerprints. (See attached document).

The rates have remained unchanged for approximately ten years. The Northumberland County OPP would like to thank the public for their cooperation regarding this matter and want to remind the public of the following requirement for obtaining criminal record checks:

· All volunteers must provide a letter from the agency they are volunteering at. The letter must be on the agencies letterhead and must be signed by someone at the agency. If volunteering at multiple organizations then a letter is required from each organization.
· All applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check, which would include anyone working/volunteering with children or the elderly, must also provide a letter from the agency requesting the Vulnerable Sector.
· Two pieces of identification must be provided at the time of application (one must be photo identification). Copies of identification will not be accepted.

Acceptable forms of photo identification include Driver’s Licence, LCBO BYID (Bring Your Identification) Card, Military Employment Cards, Canadian Citizenship Cards, First Nations Status Card, Passports, Permanent Resident Card, Canadian National Institute for the Blind Card, Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licences, Ontario Photo ID card (issued by the MTO), Nexus Card and Fast Pass Card.

Acceptable non-photo identification includes Birth Certificates, Baptismal Certificates, Hunting Licences, Outdoors Card, Canadian Blood Donor Card and Immigration Papers.

Ontario Health Cards, Social Insurance Number Cards and Old Age Security Cards are not permitted to be used as identification due to legislative restrictions.
