Northumberland OPP – Another Two Charged With Impaired Driving

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two men this past weekend with impaired driving.

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) On Friday June 21, 2019 at approximately 7:00 pm police received information of a male having difficulties attempting to back up a White Jeep with a utility trailer attached to it at an address on William Street in the town of Colborne. Officers arrived on scene and found the male driver to be unsteady on his feet and under the influence of alcohol. David RUSSELL (age 69) of Cramahe Township was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Coburg on July 31, 2019.

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – Just after 2:00 am on Sunday June 23, 2019 officers stopped a silver Buick sedan at the intersection of Grand Road and Raglan Street in the town of Campbellford. Upon speaking with the driver, an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected. A roadside Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered to the male driver resulting in a “fail”. The male was arrested and transported back to the detachment for further testing. Zackary CORMIER (age 22) of Trent Hills, Ontar io has been charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on July 31, 2019.
The OPP would like to remind motorists that highway safety is a shared responsibility. If you choose to consume alcohol or drugs, plan ahead to ensure that yourself and others that may be travelling our roadways arrive home safely.
