Durham Police – Male Arrested After Allegedly Sexually Assaulting A Child

SUBJECT: Male Arrested After Sexually Assaulting a Child

 

A 39-year-old male was arrested after allegations that he sexually assaulted a young child at a home daycare in Whitby.

 

Sexual Assault investigators commenced an investigation following allegations of sexual assault against the suspect from a victim who was a four-year-old female at the time of the offence. It’s alleged that the suspect victimized the child while she attended the daycare center on Catkins Crescent in Whitby between February 2018 and June 2018. The accused lived at the residence at the time.

 

Christopher BENSON, age 39, of Catkins Crescent in Whitby is charged with: Indecent Exposure; Invitation to Sexual Touching; Sexual Assault and Making Sexually Explicit Material Available – Under 14. He was held for a bail hearing.

 

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
