Northumberland OPP – Two Charged with Stunt Driving

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two motor vehicle operators under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving after travelling at excessive speeds on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Brighton.

On June 1, 2019 just before 7:00 am a 17-year-old male fr om Etobicoke, Ontario was charged when the black Dodge passenger van he was operating was measured travelling westbound at 175km/h.

Later that same day just before 3:00 pm a 62-year-old male driver of a red Cadillac sedan from Perth, Ontario was charged when he was measured travelling eastbound at 163km/h.

Both operators had their drivers licenses suspended for 7 days and the vehicles they were driving towed and impounded for 7 days. The accused will each appear at Court in Cobourg in July, 2019.
