Cygnets Spotted At Nawautin Nature Sanctuary

In Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

A family of newborn cygnets took to the water at Nawautin Nature Sanctuary south of Grafton on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Local residents have been keeping an eye on the nesting swans and just a few days ago three cygnets were spotted. One of the eggs hasn’t hatched yet.

But on Thursday it may have been one of the first time the three cygnets took to the water with their parents.

Two of them made it back to the nest, but the third had trouble and after trying for approximately 45-minutes seem to just enjoy being in the water with one of the parents. Eventually the family joined the cygnet once again in the water before crossing over into the larger area of water.
