The Government of Ontario is delivering on its promise to support hospitals in their ability to deliver high-quality, patient centred care while also addressing wait times and ending hallway health care.
Campbellford Memorial Hospital will be receiving $5 million from the Provincial government to implement improvements that will better assure the community’s access to quality services. This investment will support Campbellford Memorial Hospital in addressing their short and mediumterm financial challenges and will relieve some financial pressure as the hospital works towards sustainability, improvement and continued long-term success.
“In less than a year, our Government has made historic investments locally and understands the importance of supporting rural hospitals across Ontario,” said MPP David Piccini.
“This investment will support Campbellford Memorial Hospital in continuing to meet the health care needs of the residents of Trent Hills and surrounding area.”
Valerie Przybilla, Chair of the Hospital’s Board of Directors, indicated “we are extremely grateful to the Provincial Government for this unprecedented infusion of funding for Campbellford Memorial Hospital as it provides financial stability for CMH to enable the continued delivery of high quality services for Trent Hills and area communities”.
“As we have gone through a noted organizational and cultural recovery over the past several years at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, we have continued to struggle to address our financial challenges. This significant funding provides us needed resources to address historical issues while allowing us time to gain our financial footing as we continue to make improvements and move through health system transformation in the coming years”, added Varouj Eskedjian, President and CEO of the Hospital.
The Government is taking a comprehensive approach to strengthening our healthcare system including; additional investments in increased hospital operational funding, mental health and addiction services, building long term care bed as well as home care funding and community care funding.
“Our Government is building a sustainable, connect and modern health care system, which is putting patients at the centre and ensures the needs of patients, families and caregivers are driving all our decisions,’’ said Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Christine Elliott.

• In January 2019, MPP Piccini announced that Campbellford Memorial Hospital received $1,744,616.00 in funding through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund to improve the quality and functionability of the hospital. This was the largest investment in CMH in over a decade.
• The government is taking a comprehensive approach to ending hallway health care, including: o $384 million increased hospital operational funding; o $174 million in mental health and addition services this year; o $72 million in building long-term care beds; and o $267 million in home care and community care funding
