Chief Kai Liu Subject: Local Blog Article Regarding Cobourg Police
As some of you may have seen, a local blogger published a story on a theft at a local business in Cobourg. It was reported that the Cobourg Police were called but didn’t make an attempt to connect with the business owner or appear at the scene. The Cobourg Police take full responsibility for the oversight on this incident and have since tended to the matter. The person has been identified and charged with theft. The Cobourg Police Service would like the public to know that this is not an acceptable practice for any service and we have initiated an internal investigation to find and mitigate the root cause of this. Our highest priority is the safety of our community members and ensuring we have your trust. We continue to strive to be a trusted community partner, committed to excellence in policing and protecting the safety, security and quality of life in the Town of Cobourg.
