VIDEO – Grass Fire On Highway 401 Extinguished By Clarington Fire Services

Shortly before noon on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 Clarington Fire Department along with Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services responded to a grass fire on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at the Port Hope OnRoute centre.
Clarington Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire before Port Hope arrived on scene.
Northumberland OPP assisted with traffic coming off the off-ramp of the highway.
With the dry grass, fire services are advising to be very careful with tossing cigarettes from vehicles.
