Northumberland OPP – Firearms Stolen From Trent Hills Residence

On March 28, 2019 shortly after 6:00 pm, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist the Trent Hills Fire Department on Birch Point Road for a structure fire that was fully engulfed.

On March 29, 2019 the owner of the seasonal residence notified police that while working through the remains of the structure it was found that his gun vault had been breached. Several firearms along with a quantity of cash have been reported stolen.

The fire to the residence has been found not to be suspicious however members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit are investigating a break and enter that is believed to have occurred at that property sometime prior to the structure fire.

The stolen firearms are described as:

1. WW Greener, 10 gauge shotgun (serial number 24460)
2. Iver Johnston Hercules, 20 gauge shotgun
3. Winchester M50, 12 gauge shotgun (serial number 136406)
4. Winchester 61, pump-action rifle (serial number 39383)
5. BSA .222, bolt-action rifle
6. BSA Martini International multi-barrel rifle (serial number U1193)
7. Remington 141-35 pump-action rifle
8. Marlin 1893 30/03 rifle (serial number 246783)
9. Mossberg 340B rifle
10. Walther 22 calibre target rifle (serial number 105125)
11. Bruno 522 LR bolt-action rifle (serial number 21077)
12. Winchester 101 – 20 gauge shot gun
13. Johnston 16 gauge shotgun
14. Stevens visible loader rifle (serial number R0415)

The Northumberland OPP is seeking the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Cobourg Detachment at 905 372-5421.
