Press release – Man Brought to NHH with a Stab Wound

On Wednesday March 27th, 2019 at approximately 5:30 p.m., a man arrived at the Northumberland Hills Hospital with a stab wound. The man was dropped off by an unknown male who fled the scene quickly after. The man was cared for by the staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital but was later airlifted to a trauma centre for his injuries. Cobourg Police have a mystery on their hands after a person was wheeled into Northumberland Hills Hospital suffering from what appears to be stab wounds on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
People in the emergency room were stunned when a person was wheeled into the emergency room waiting area in a wheelchair. The person who wheeled the man in said he was stabbed, but as quickly as they entered, the person who wheeled him in went out the emergency entrance to the hospital and left the area.
The victim suffered what appears to be stab wounds said one officer.
Just after 8 p.m. the victim was airlifted from Northumberland Hills Hospital to a trauma centre.
People who were in the waiting room were interviewed by police about the incident.
Police are just starting their investigation will be collecting any video surveillance but asking if anyone who has knowledge of the incident to call Cobourg Police Service at 905372-6821 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
