From Monday, March 11th 2019 through March 17th 2019 the Cobourg Police Service responded to 164 Occurrence’s including; 16- 911 calls, 10 Alarm Calls, 2 Animal Complaint calls, 2 Assault calls, 1 Bail violations call, 10 Community services events calls, 1 Disturb the peace call, 2 Domestic dispute calls, 1 Drug offence call, 2 Family dispute calls, 4 Fraud calls, 2 Impaired driver calls, 2 Mental health calls, 2 Mischief calls, 1 Missing persons call, 8 Motor vehicle collision calls, 6 Noise complaint calls, 3 Person wellbeing calls, 17 Police assistance calls, 7 Police information calls, 5 Property related calls, 6 Suspicious persons calls, 9 theft calls, 4 Threats call, 3 Traffic complaint calls, 1 Trouble with youth call, and 5 Unwanted person call. Here are some examples of calls for service this week.

11 March 2019
– Police conducted an investigation involving multiple 911 calls from an apartment building in the downtown core. Police cautioned three parties on their behaviour and one party was asked to leave.
– Police attended a local business in regards to a patron having their debit card stolen. The patrons debit card was used in multiple locations. Police are continuing their investigation using CCTV footage.

12 March 2019
– Police investigated a report of an individual that was attempting to gain entry in a local apartment building. Police located the unwanted person who also had a warrant out for their arrest. The unwanted person was later released with a later court date.
– Police attended a local residence in regards to ongoing neighbour disputes. The complainant was upset that a down spout was pointed towards his property. Police spoke with all parties involved and a mutual agreement was settled.

13 March 2019
– Police responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision in the Town of Cobourg. A vehicle had lost control and struck a light standard. A short time later the suspect vehicle was located. Police determined that the driver was intoxicated and was charged under the Criminal Code for the appropriate charges.
– Police responded to an attempt of suicide at a local residence. Through Police investigation a female was apprehended under the Mental Health Act after attempting to slice her wrist with a razor blade

14 March 2019
– Police responded to an assault in progress in the Town of Cobourg. Investigation revealed that a male had a knife for the purpose of using it for the assault. The male was charged under the Criminal Code for Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
– Police attended to male out of control at a local residence. Police located the male in the basement of the residence. Police received information that the argument was verbal only. The male left the residence without further issues.

15 March 2019
– Police responded to a local residence for a report of an assault. It was determined that two individuals were possibly involved in a physical altercation. Police were unable to determine the main aggressor. No threats or injuries reported.
– Police attended a local business in regards to a male attempting to steal change from a pay as you use vacuum. Police have received CCTV footage. Investigation ongoing.

16 March 2019
– Police were dispatched to a business on the east end of town in regards to a verbal altercation. Police investigation revealed that a female was too intoxicated to take care of herself. For her safety she was transported back the Cobourg Police Station and was released when she was sober.
– Police attended a local establishment and conducted a routine walk through and also checked for possible violations regarding alcohol. This was completed without incident

17 March 2019
– A Cobourg citizen attended the Cobourg Police Service in regards to having a warrant out for her arrest. Cobourg Police executed the Warrant and released the female with a later court date.
– Police attended a local residence in regards to a complaint of youths running into the woods and acting suspicious. By the time Cobourg Police attended the youths had already left in a vehicle.
