City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Drivers Facing Alcohol Related Charges

Weekend Impaired Drivers

This past weekend officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police charged two drivers with alcohol related driving offences.

 

The first investigation began in Bobcaygeon on Friday March 15, 2019 at approximately 9pm, for a Highway Traffic Act infraction. Following the investigation, 45 year old James FINLEY of Bobcaygeon was arrested and charged with the following offences:

 

  •  Operation While Impair ed – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) contrary to Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Driving While Suspended (two counts) contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 18, 2019.

 

A second investigation began at approximately 2:15am on March 18, 2019 when a vehicle was stopped on Glenarm Road for a traffic violation. Following an investigation, 28 year old Marly-Anne LAVIGNE of Coboconk was arrested and charged with the following offences:

 

  •  Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) contrary to Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  • Driving While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Fail to Notify Change of Name contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on April 25, 2019.
