The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation offered year-to-date figures at the hospital’s March board meeting that show the organization to be in an enviable position – revenues to date higher than budgeted, and expenses to date lower than budgeted.
Revenues at this point in the fiscal year should be $2.4-million, but the actual figure is $3.35-million. Meanwhile, expenses at this point should be $488,000 and the actual figure is $390,000.
“That’s a good balance,” board chair Beth Selby stated.
Foundation delegate Tyler Hathway could not be present, but he forwarded a report that was read to the board by hospital president and chief executive officer Linda Davis.
Hathway also reported two recent generous donations – $50,000 and $250,000.
“In both cases, it was the outstanding care they received from front-line staff that prompted the donation,” Hathway said. This would seem to indicate that outstanding patient care can boost the success of the foundation’s efforts.
