Northumberland OPP – Driver Blows Over Four Times the Legal Limit after Collision

On Thursday February 28, 2019 just before 8:30 pm officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with emergency personnel, responded to a collision involving two motor vehicles on County Road 28 between Lakeview Lane and Rice Lake Drive North in the Municipality of Port Hope.

A silver colored Subaru hatchback travelling southbound crossed over the center line and collided with a black Honda sedan travelling northbound.

The female driver of the Subaru was found to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation Colleen DUNN (age 23) of Hamilton Township, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Dangerous operation

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on April 3, 2019.

County Road 28 was closed for a short period of time while the involved vehicles and debris were removed from the highway.

Only minor injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.
