Cobourg Police – Male Arrested for Assault With A Weapon

On Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at approximately 6:30pm, Officers of the Cobourg Police Service received a report of a male who reportedly had walked into Northumberland Hills Hospital suffering from stab wounds. The victim was treated for his injuries and subsequently released. Police Investigation identified Peter POPLE as being responsible for the assault, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
UPDATE: On Saturday the 2nd day of March 2019, Peterborough Police Service located a male currently sought by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an outstanding warrant. As a result of Police Investigation 21 year old Peter POPLE of Peterborough was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, assault cause bodily harm, breach of a peace bond and breach of probation under the Criminal Code. POPLE was subsequently held in the custody of the Cobourg Police Service, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing on the 3rd day of March 2019.
