Northumberland OPP – iTunes Scam Circulating in Northumberland

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to inform the public of an iTunes scam that is currently circulating in the County.

Several reports have been received by residents of Northumberland County regarding calls they have received by a person they believed was from their banking institution claiming that their bank card or credit card had been compromised. The caller then states the only way to rectif y the problem without added interest is by way of iTunes gift cards. This is just one of many scams involving iTunes cards that are currently making the rounds and catching citizens off guard.
