Female Arrested – Assault Police, Domestic Assault and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

At 1:18 pm on Wednesday the 16th of January 2019, Officers from the Cobourg Police Service responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision at King St. near C.I.B.C. Police learned that the incident was domestic related and the female driver causing the collision fled the scene.  Police later located the female and two officers were assaulted by her during the course of the arrest.

The accused female will not be named in order to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused female is charged with Domestic Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle ,Fail to remain at the scene of an accident and two counts of Assault Peace Officers contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is being held in custody for a future bail hearing.
