Fatal Collision on Highway 115 at the Parkway in Peterborough County

A 55-year-old Peterborough man was killed in a single vehicle collision on Highway 115 at the Parkway exit ramp in Cavan-Monaghan Township on Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision at approximately 7:30pm on the northbound lanes of Highway 115 at the Parkway exit ramp.

A vehicle was travelling northbound on Highway 115 when the driver lost control. The vehicle crashed through the guardrail and fell on to the Parkway.

The northbound lanes of Highway 115 were closed down at Airport Road while members trained in Collision Reconstruction measure and documented the scene.

The driver has been identified as Craig Bell of Peterborough.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
