Durham Police – Drugs and Firearm Seized During Impaired Driving Arrest

DFour people are facing charges after a loaded firearm and drugs were seized during an impaired driving arrest.

On Friday, December 14, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of Celina Street and John Street East in Oshawa after a citizen had called in to report a possible impaired driver. As officers attempted to have the driver exit the vehicle for further investigation, a number of passengers exited the vehicle and attempted to distract the officers. An officer observed one of the passengers return to the motor vehicle and attempt to remove a loaded firearm. A scuffle ensued as the officers tried to disarm the man. They were eventually able to gain control and seized the loaded handgun.

Upon further investigation, one of the passengers was found in possession of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $3,600.

Samantha ADAMS, age 19 of Simcoe Street South in Oshawa; Treyfon FARRELL, age 22 of Chestnut Street East in Whitby; Bryanna COSTELLO CONTRERAS, age 19 of Whiting Avenue in Oshawa; and Michael BOLLERS, age 27 of Glen Street in Oshawa, are all facing numerous firearms charges. BOLLERS is additionally facing the charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Provide Breath Sample. ADAMS is additionally facing various drug charges.
