Durham Police – Investigators Following up on Tips Regarding Historical Case

Investigators are following up on new information received regarding a historical missing person investigation from the 1960s.

Investigators will commence excavating this morning in the area of Highway #57 and Concession Road 8 in Bowmanville. Police received new information that evidence may be buried at this location.

On Saturday, September 14, 1963, Noreen GREENLEY was 13 years old when she went missing in the town of Bowmanville. The Bowmanville Police Department investigated Noreen’s disappearance with several search efforts and investigations, but was not able to locate her. In 2005, the DRPS Homicide Unit revisited the case. The case remains unsolved.

D/Sgt. Mitch Martin of the Major Crime – Homicide Unit will be at the excavation site periodically throughout the day for any media inquiries.
