Northumberland OPP – Three Charged With Impaired Driving

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Monday October 8, 2018 at approximately 3:30 pm members of the Northumberland County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a black pickup truck on Boundary Road in Bewdley after receiving information that the driver was possibly impaired. As a result of the investigation 57 year old John Edward REEVES of Bewdley was arrested and charged with the following offences:

    < li>Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol)

  • Fail/Refuse to Provide Sample (Breath)
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on November 14, 2018.

 

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday October 9, 2018 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Burnham Street North and Rice Lake Scenic Drive at approximately 11:00 pm. A black Dodge sedan had struck a retaining wall. The female driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 31 year old Jillian PASHAGUMSKUM SMOKE of Alnwick-Haldimand Township was arrested and charged with:

  • Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol)
  • Care or Control Over 80mgs

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 31, 2018.

(BRIGHTON, ON) – On Thursday October 11, 2018 the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 westbound in the Brighton area just before 4:00 pm. The motor vehicle was described as being unable to drive in a marked lane almost causing an accident. The male driver, 29 year old Christopher VALDSTYN of Oshawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with care or control over 80mgs.

The accused was re leased and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on November 21, 2018.
