Kawartha Lakes OPP – Operation Impact Results

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – This weekend officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) participated in Operation Impact. Operation Impact is a campaign to raise awareness through education and enforcement around the “Big Four” contributing factors to fatal motor vehicle collisions. The “Big Four” are: Inattentive Driving, Aggressive Driving, Alcohol and Drug Impaired Driving and Lack of Seatbelt Use.
This weekend through enforcement in CKL the following charges were laid:
Inattentive Driving: 2
Speeding: 84
Impaired Driving: 1
Lack of Seatbelt Use: 4
Officers of the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment will continue to wo rk towards road safety through enforcement and education. The public can do their part by continuing to buckle up, not drive impaired (by alcohol or drugs), pay attention to the road at all times and refrain from aggressive driving.
