Port Hope Panthers Earn First Win Of The Season

The Port Hope Panthers earned their first victory of the season at home on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.
The Panthers took the game to the nearly end scoring with just three seconds left in overtime beating the Gananoque Islanders 4-3.
Gananoque got the first two goals of the game scoring one in the first and another in the second before the Panthers got their first goal of the game at 13:02 of the second by Jarrett Desormeaux with assists by Zeph Hlapcic and Mike Chambers.
Desormeaux got his second goal of the game just over a minute later at 14:29 of the second period with an assist by Matt Henderson.
The Panthers took the lead in the third with a goal by Aaron Toms at 7:49 with Ian Brown getting an assist.
But Gananoque tied it up and the game went into overtime.
Carson Shuttleworth scored the overtime winner at 6:57 with an assist by Adam Majier taking the first win for the team.
Gananoque had 41 shots on goal and Port Hope had 31.
Port Hope spent 31 minutes in the penalty box compared to 12 by Gananoque.
