Cobourg Police – Man Charged With Impaired Driving

Adult male arrested for Impaired Care and Control and Operating a motor vehicle with over 80.mgs of Alcohol

On Friday July 20, 2018 at about 9:39pm, officers of the Cobourg Police Service responded to a call of a possible impaired driver.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle had struck a pole at the intersection of Burnham Street and King Street West. This vehicle then had continued with a flat tire, almost striking a citizen. Officers located the driver, and vehicle, on King Street West.

As a result, police have charged a 68-year-old Cobourg resident, James (Bill) MACDONALD, with Impaired Care and Control and operating a motor vehicle with over 80mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.

James (Bill) MACDONALD was released by way of a Promise to Appear, with a court date of August 15, 2018.

The Cobourg Police Service invite anyone who witnessed or has knowledge of this event to contact the Cobourg Police or Crime Stoppers.
