Cobourg Kodiaks and Oakville Rock End In A Tie At The CCC

The Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks and Oakville Rock gave it everything they had last night and when the dust settled, the teams battled to a 12-12 tie.
Kevin Orleman made his third consecutive start for Cobourg.
Oakville goalie, Nick Rose, who also is a star for the Toronto Rock, started for Oakville.
In front of 677 cheering Kodiaks fans, Cobourg jumped out to an early 5-1 lead on two goals by Dan Lomas and one each for Kyle Killen, Joey Cupido and Riley Campbell. Lomas was playing against his former club for the first time since being acquired by the Kodiaks in off season.
The Rock pulled to within 3 before the end of first period to make the score 5-2 on a first period hat trick by Dan Craig.
The second period was back and forth with the Kodiaks and the Rock trading scoring chances. Both goalies made some incredible saves. Luke Laszkiewicz increased Cobourg’s lead with a rocket of a shot that beat Rose.
At the end of the second period, Cobourg held a 7-6 lead. Cobourg had the majority of scoring chances in the third period with several breakaways. However, Rose recovered from his shaky start to make save after save. Tyler Albrecht got his first two goals in Major Series Lacrosse.
The former Loyola University Star was able to solve Rose twice in the third. The first on a great bounce shot that beat Rose’s five hole. Albrecht’s second goal of the period was a no look laser beam which had Rose frozen. Drake Smith also scored in the third for Cobourg.
Oakville’s Challen Rogers scored two goals in the third to keep it close. With the Oakville net empty for an extra attacker, they were able to score with seven seconds left in regulation to tie the game 10-10 to force overtime.
In OT, New Westminster, British Colombia native, Connor Goodwin scored two goals for Cobourg. Rogers and Andrew Kew responded for Oakville.
After a full ten minutes overtime, the game ended in a 12-12 draw. Game scoring summary for the Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks:

The fans at the Cobourg Community Centre were very loud in cheering on their Hometown Kodiaks and were not disappointed. As it was Fan Appreciation Night, fans were invited onto the floor after the game to meet the players.
