Celebrating Asian Heritage Month In Markham Honouring Canadian Veterans

Over 100 veterans gathered at the Elegance Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Markham as the Asian Community Honoured Canada’s Veterans on Friday, June 1, 2018.
The event was part of the Asian Heritage Month/
Senator Victor Oh said, “tonight we come together to honour Canadian veterans, who dedicated their lives to protecting the security and freedom we enjoy.”
“Thousands of Asian Canadians fought in the Second World War in the Canadian Army and many more volunteered for active duty.”
During the evening a toast to the fallen was made by Major Paul Hale, Princess Patrician Canadian Light Infrantry along with a toast to Canadians of Asian decent by Honorary Colonel (Retired) C. Mercier.
The amazing evening and 12 course dinner was hoasted by Nancy Siew and her committee.
