Man charged with assaulting common law partner.

A 31 year old man is facing charges of assault and assault with a weapon. Port Hope Police commenced the investigation on March 26th 2018 after the alleged victim reported historical and current incidents to Police.  The allegations involve the accused grabbing the victim’s face causing minor injuries. Dragging her down some stairs in an attempt to remove her from the residence and throwing objects at her during a heated argument. The allegations span from 2017 until March 2018.  The man who police will not identify appears in court the end of April.

Man facing criminal charges after domestic incident reported.  

A 28 year old Port Hope man is facing charges of forcible confinement and mischief after Port Hope Police processed a complaint from a 28 year old woman described as the former fiancé.  Police commenced an investigation into the allegations on the 28th of March 2018.  The allegations involve the male not allowing the woman to leave the residence located central Port Hope while the couple were arguing. The man confined her to the bedroom area until she transferred money into his account. The man, who Police will not identify in order to protect the identification of the victim, is further is charged with mischief after he is alleged to have smashed several holes in the drywall of the residence.  He was arrested shortly after 3pm on the 28th of March and will appear in court middle of April 2018.

Man charged with assault.

A 83 year old man is facing charges of assault after Port Hope Police were called to a residence in the Municipality’s east end on the afternoon of March 31st 2018. Port Hope Police officers investigated an allegation that the man assaulted his wife during an argument. The man was arrested at the scene and appears in court at the end of April.  No names will be released to protect the victim.
