Domestic assault Arrest:

A 19-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with domestic assault following an investigation.

At approximately 11 p.m. on March 15, 2018 witnesses driving in the north end of Peterborough saw a male and female in an altercation and then observed the male assault the female.

The incident was reported to police and officers investigated. Shortly after midnight on March 16, 2018 officers located the accused and the victim, a teenage female, at a Peterborough residence.As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2018.

In order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident the name of the accused will not be released.

 

Possession of property obtained by crime Arrest:

A 41-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with possession of stolen property following further investigation into an incident that took place earlier in March.

On March 7, 2018 the accused was arrested and charged in relation to an incident that took place in a Lansdowne Street West parking lot.

It was later revealed that the vehicle driven by the accused during this incident was stolen.

As a result of the investigation on March 14, 2018 the accused attended the police station where he was arrested and charged.

Michael Joseph Giroux, 41, of Bolivar Street, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 5, 2018.
