Female arrested for Obstruct Police and Possession of property obtained by Crime

On Sunday March 4, 2018 approximately 17:30 hours, members of the Cobourg Police Service responded to Wal-Mart on Strathy Road in Cobourg regarding a theft in progress.

The store’s loss prevention officer approached 3 suspects after they left the store with approximately $3000.00 in merchandise which had not been paid for. As a result of the investigation, 34 Year old Ashley Rinder of Toronto was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstruct Peace Officer. Rinder was later released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking. The investigation is ongoing.

Rinder will appear in Court in April.
