Man charged with numerous frauds

A 30 year old Colborne man was arrested on the 27th of February and charged with fraudulently using credit cards that belonged to a former landlord.  The investigation was commenced by Port Hope Police at the beginning of February after the complainant, who was out of the Country, noticed several transactions that he did not make. It appears that credit cards that were received in the mail were unlawfully activated and used to make cash advances and purchases. Collectively the amount of money and purchases allegedly obtained was over $4000.00.  30 year old Stephen Dingman is charged with 38 counts of fraud. He appears in court in at the end of April 2018.

 

Man charged with possession of crack cocaine.

A 36 year old Port Hope man is facing possession of crack cocaine charges after he was investigated for a trespassing complaint. On the 22nd of February 2018 shortly before 6:00pm Port Hope Police were called to a Wellington Street complex after a complaint was received that the man who was prohibited from being on the property was there.  Police located him in the parking lot of the complex. He was arrested for trespassing.  A search of the man subsequent to arrest revealed a small quantity of what the officer believed to be crack cocaine. Michael Austin Rutledge appears in court at the end of March.
