Port Hope Panthers Take First Game Over Picton Pirates In Tod Division Semi-Final

The Port Hope Panthers came away with a 7-4 victory over the Picton Pirates in the first game of seven at the Jack Burger Sports Complex on Saturday night.
The battle is the first game in the Tod Division semi-final between the teams.
At the end of the first Port Hope was up 3-1 with goals by Austin Veleke, Evan Foley and Cameron McGill.
The second period a total of seven goals were scored between the two teams with the Panthers potting four goals by Kallen McFardland, Cameron Lowery, Dayton Kent and Brad Bollert.
The total shots on net were 62 by Port Hope and 28 by Picton.
Pirates Nick Kyte received a game misconduct at 13:03 of the third period for charging into Panthers goalie Spyros Koskinas.
Game two of the series takes place on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Picton followed by Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Port Hope.
