Winds too Strong for Kite Surfers on Lake Ontario

In Local, Weather

Three kite surfers took to the waters of Lake Ontario, but the wind was just to much for them on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

Even changing kites to a smaller size which is done when there are strong winds didn’t help with one person having to abandon his board on the lake and “body surf” with the sail to shore ending up in the east end of Cobourg.

Two of them then had some fun with wing-boards along the east pier in Cobourg.

The wings cost upwards of $1,000 and though it was just about to gusty for the kites, the two had fun on the pier.
