Breaking News – Fleet Of Police Vehicles Take Down Two Suspects at Port Hope On Route

A fleet of police vehicles arrested two suspects at the Highway 401 eastbound On Route in the Municipality of Port Hope on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

At approximately 3 p.m. officers from York Region, Whitby OPP, Northumberland OPP, Durham Regional Police along with a police helicopter converged at the On Route centre after two suspects stopped to fill up.

Police vehicles surrounded the vehicle and then took the male and female suspect into custody.

The investigation is being lead by the York Regional Police Service and an officer at the scene told Today’s Northumberland the pair were arrested for conspiracy to commit robbery.

The officer would only say the two are not from Canada.

The Canada Border Services Agency is also involved in the investigation.
