Waterspout Appears Over Lake Ontario Between Cobourg and Port Hope

A number of people witnessed a water spout over Lake Ontario on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Around 1:40 p.m. numerous people along the lakeshore between Cobourg and Port Hope witnessed the waterspout forming on Lake Ontario.

Casey Barrett was along Lake Street with her son and best friend when she saw one spout touch the water and another forming, but never touched the water.

Barrett said that she had “chills” at witnessing such an amazing event.

The water spout lasted for approximately four minutes before disappearing.
