Durham Police – Two Males Facing Numerous Charges After Collision in Oshawa (Names Released)

Charges have been laid after police received reports of a break-and-enter, a vehicle being stolen and numerous collisions throughout Durham Region.

 

On Sunday September 10, 2023, at approximately 7:10 p.m, members from Central West Division responded to a break-and-enter call at Dundas Street West and Euclid Street in Whitby.   Witnesses observed a male breaking into an unoccupied home. Shortly after, witnesses observed the male stealing a vehicle from a nearby apartment building.

 

Following the theft of the vehicle, police received numerous calls from concerned citizens as to how the vehicle was being operated.  The driver struck a total of four vehicles and caused damage to one residence.   Police were able to locate the vehicle near Kitchener Avenue and Dean Avenue in Oshawa where they attempted to stop the vehicle.  The vehicle drove into the rear of a police cruiser, continued driving and then t-boned another cruiser, causing minor injuries to two police officers.  

 

Blair HAMILTON, age 45, of No Fixed Address faces nine charges including: Break and Enter, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Stop for Police and Fail to Comply with Probation.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Tyler DONNELLY, age 25, of Bowmanville has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over and Faily to Comply with Probation x2.  He was released on an Undertaking.
