A 39-year-old Colborne man was charged with driving impaired after police conducted a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
On Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:25 a.m., police on general patrol in the area of King Street East and D’Arcy Street initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle cross over the center lane multiple times.
Police spoke to the driver, who was exhibiting signs of impairment by alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, a 39-year-old Colborne man was arrested and charged with the following offences:
1. Operation while impaired (alcohol) contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
2. Impaired Operation – over 80 contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
3. Novice Driver – B.A.C above zero contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act
4. Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available contrary to section 12(1) of the Cannabis Control Act, 2017
The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for July 12, 2023.
