Cobourg Police – Downtown Store Robbed at Knifepoint

The Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating a report of a robbery that occurred in the area of King Street West in Cobourg.

On Friday, May 26, 2023, at approximately 1:50 a.m., police were notified of a robbery at Circle K Convenience located at 122 King Street West, Cobourg at approximately 1:40 a.m.

Police were informed that a lone male entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded money. The man left the store on foot with a quantity of cash. No physical injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 40-55 years of age, 5’7”-5’ 9” in height, wearing grey clothing with a face mask. The suspect walked with a noticeable hunched upper back.

Cobourg Police believe the same person may have been involved in an incident on May 13, 2023, at the same location.

Anyone with information or video surveillance footage of King Street West is asked to contact police at 905- 372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca.

Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
