Mark your calendars for a Tree-mendous event!

On May 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m join the Environmental Advisory Committee for the first ever Tree Party in Rotary Park, next to the PH Public Library Port Hope.

This event will feature activities for children such as face painting, stories and songs with Ted Staunton, arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt and more.

The folks from Barrett’s Christmas Tree Farm and Brackenridge’s Maple Sugar Camp will be on hand to share information about their work.

Arborist Tyler Vivian will be on hand to answer your tree maintenance questions.

Local environmental organizations and committee representatives will be on hand to share the work their members do and to hear from you about the direction you think Port Hope should be moving in the era of Climate Change.

The event also provides an opportunity to take part in the community consultation aspect in the creation of a Port Hope Climate Action Plan.

The Environmental Advisory Board is comprised of members representing both Wards 1 and 2. The purpose of the committee is to assist the elected council when making decisions that impact the local environment both now and in the future.
