Port Hope Panthers Tally Six Straight Goals in Win Over Frankford

Six straight goals paced the Port Hope Panthers to a 7-2 victory over the visiting Frankford Huskies in Provincial Junior Hockey League action Saturday night at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.
Trailing 1-0 after the first period after a goal from Frankford’s Ben Smith, the Panthers tallied three unanswered goals during the middle frame. Andrew Roberts evened the score at the 7:37 mark and teammate Isaac Langdon put Port Hope in front 48 seconds later.
Langdon bolstered the lead with a shorthanded tally late in the second before Austin Yates, Oz Paziuk and Luca Fernandez scored three straight for the Panthers before the 15-minute mark of the third.
Blake Ellis got one back for the Huskies before Logan Smith rounded out the scoring for the Panthers, which improved to 3-7-0-2 with the win. Frankford is sitting at 6-9-0-0, including three wins over Port Hope this season. Carter Clarke registered three assists in the Panthers win.
Sunday night, the Panthers are in Amherstview to take on the Jets (10-6-1-0).
