Police Warning the Public after Indecent Acts in Whitby

Police are releasing the image of a male in connection with one of the indecent act incidents in Whitby last month. This male may be connected to the third incident which took place on Athol Street near Gilbert Street on June 14, 2018, at approximately 3:26 p.m.

The suspect is described as: male, white, in his mid-20s, 5’5” tall, slim build, scruffy appearance. He was wearing shorts, a grey shirt and a baseball cap.

A photo is attached and can be viewed at drps.ca under Newsroom. It still hasn’t been determined if the three incidents are related.

Police Warning the Public after Indecent Acts in Whitby

Police are advising the public after three separate incidents of indecent acts in Whitby occurred over the past three weeks.

Between Monday, May 28, 2018 and Thursday, June 14, 2018, police have received three separate reports of a male suspect committing an indecent act in front of female victims. The first incident occurred at Trent Street near Peel Park and the other two incidents on Athol Street/Burns Street and Athol Street/Gilbert Street, all in Whitby. In all three incidents, the victim is walking and the male is seen committing an indecent act in front of the victim. No words were exchanged. These three incidents all happened in the day time. At this point, there is not enough information to suggest that they are all related.

Description of suspect in all three cases;

Incident #1 – male, white, 5’10” to 6’ tall, 17-18 years old, slim build, brown hair, he had headphones on. He was wearing a black T-shirt, dark black baggy jeans.

Incident #2 – male, white, in his 20’s, average height and average build, brown hair. He was wearing a baseball cap, brown casual shoes, grey shorts and a green/blue t-shirt.

Incident #3 – male, white, in his 30’s, 5’5” tall, slim build, scruffy appearance. He was wearing khaki-green shorts, grey shirt and a baseball cap.
