Cobourg Police – Man and Woman Arrested at Domestic

On Thursday August 4th, 2022 at 1:49pm officers of the Cobourg Police Service were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance at an address in the West end of Cobourg. Upon arrival and through extensive investigation it was learned that a man and woman had been involved in a domestic dispute and the male had assaulted the female. Both fled the scene as they were both on court imposed conditions to not be with one another.

During the investigation the man also placed a call for service to police attempting to mislead the domestic investigation.

As a result a 36-year-old man of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1) Fail to Comply Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code x3

2) Domestic Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code

3) Public Mischief contrary to section 140(1) of the Criminal Code

A 40 year-old woman of Cobourg was also arrested and charged with the following offences:

1) Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code x2

2) Breach of Recognizance contrary to section 811 of the Criminal Code x3

Both individuals were held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for Friday August 5th, 2022.
