Cobourg Police – Two Cobourg Residents Charged with Theft (No Names Released)

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, the accused parties entered a business located in the north end of the Town of Cobourg. Both parties selected several products and exited the store, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. They left the area in a motor vehicle.

Through investigation, police were able to identify both individuals.

As a result, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, a 26-year-old woman and 35-year-old man attended the Cobourg Police Service to turn themselves in. Both were arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

Both were released on an Undertaking with a future court date of April 13, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
