Cobourg Kodiaks Win Big Against Brooklin Redmen

Fathers Day proved to be special for the Cobourg Nissan Kodiaks as they won their first game of the season in front of over 500 fans at the Cobourg Community Centre. The Kodiaks scored a convincing 12-3 win over the Brooklin Redmen.
The Kodiaks dominated play from the opening faceoff and drew first blood on a blistering outside shot by Chris Cloutier.
The Redmen tied it up before Kyle Killen put the Kodiaks up 2-1 at the end of the first period. The Kodiaks broke the game open in the second period as they led 7-2.
One of the highlights of the period was a short handed back hand goal by Killen.
The Kodiaks continued to out play the Redmen in the third period scoring several highlight reel goals.
The Kodiaks were hungry for a win all evening and this was emphasized by captain Joey Cupido scoring on a lightning fast transition goal in the third.
With a vocal crowd of 513 the Kodiaks outscored the 5-0 in the third to put an exclamation point on the game.
Rookie goaltender Kevin Orleman picked up his first Major Series Lacrosse win while giving up only 3 goals in the game.
