Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Arson Investigation

On November 16, 2021 at 4:40am Kawartha Lakes OPP and Kawartha Lakes Fire Services responded to a residence on Hutton Street in Lindsay for a fire on the porch of a residence. At that time, it was deemed non-suspicious in nature.

On November 17, 2021 at 3:50am Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a second Hutton Street address after, residents were awoken by a loud banging noise. A male was observed at the rear of the residence who had smashed out a basement window and set a fire which was extinguished by the home owner.

The male fled the area, towards Dobson Street and was last seen on a bicycle heading toward the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail.

The Criminal Investigation Branch has taken over the investigation. Investigators are asking anyone with video surveillance to review their footage surrounding the time of these incidents.
