Cobourg Police Investigating Suspected Drug Overdose Death

Cobourg Police confirm there is no risk to public safety.

On August 18, 2021, police were called to an address on King Street West regarding a medical complaint – suspected drug overdose.

Members of the Cobourg Police Service remain on scene investigating the circumstances of a death. The
Cobourg Police confirm that there is no risk to public safety.

If you suspect someone is having an overdose, call 911 immediately. Administer naloxone if available and
start Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects individuals who
are worried about getting into trouble with the law because they may have drugs, are violating release or
parole conditions. It can protect you from certain charges if you experience or witness an overdose and call
911 for help.
