The largest local provider of subsidized housing in the community – Northumberland County Housing Corporation – will hold its annual general meeting May 26, to be followed immediately by a meeting of the board of directors.

The NCHC provides more than 344 rent-geared-to-income and affordable rental-housing units to Northumberland’s low-income households, the announcement said.

A board of directors oversees the budget, long-term planning, corporate bylaws, agreements and reports. And as the sole shareholder of this particular corporation, the county provides direction to its skills-based board members – a body which includes citizen directors, representatives of county council and the county’s chief administrative officer.

The AGM program on My 26 will include remarks from Northumberland Warden Bob Crate, and the agenda includes confirmation of the board of directors, appointment of a new vice-chair and presentations of the 2020 annual report and 2020 audited financial statements. The full agenda will be available as of May 20 at //Northumberland.ca/NCHC.

The meeting will take place in a teleconference, with the AGM starting at 1 p.m. and the board meeting to follow.

To join, dial in at 1-647-558-0588. The meeting ID is 919 1680 8259 and the passcode is 554589.
