Cobourg Police – Four People Arrested on Warrants

Four Cobourg residents were arrested on outstanding warrants.
On the early evening of Monday, April 26, 2021, police observed a man walking downtown Cobourg currently wanted on an outstanding probation warrant.
As a result of police investigation, Michael Berryman, a 26-year-old resident of Cobourg, was arrested. During
a search incident to the arrest, officers located a quantity of drugs.
The accused was charged with the following offences:Breach of Probation – contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada x2

Possession of a Schedule I Substance to wit Crystal Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4(1) of
the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule I Substance to wit Fentanyl – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs
and Substances Act

Possession of a Schedule III Substance to wit Psilocybin – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled
Drugs and Substances Act
Berryman was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Shortly after that, a person attended the Cobourg Police Station to turn themselves in on outstanding charges
stemming from an ongoing investigation from the middle of April 2021.
The accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Fail to Comply with Court Order – contrary to section 127(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Harassing Communication – contrary to section 372(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Criminal Harassment – contrary to section 164(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
To protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused will not be disclosed. The accused was released
on an undertaking with a future court date.

Later that evening, police located and arrested Michelle Allan, a 37-year-old woman from Cobourg. Allan was
wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal
Code of Canada x3

Fraud – contrary to section 374(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Forged Documents – contrary to section 368(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Fraud – contrary to section 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Theft Under $5000 – contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Fail to Appear – contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Possession of a Controlled Substance – contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act
Allan was held for a bail hearing.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 27, police on general patrol in Cobourg located a man currently
wanted on an outstanding bench warrant.
As a result of police investigation, Coulter Bursey-Young, a 26-year-old man from Cobourg was arrested and
charged with the following offence:

Operation While Impaired – Contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Bursey-Young was released on appearance notice with a future court date.
