Cobourg Police – Roseneath Man Charged Drive Under Suspension and Drug Arrest

On the evening of Sunday, February 21, 2021, police on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Division Street.

As a result of the police investigation, Sheldon OOSTING, a 45-year-old man from Roseneath, was arrested for driving under suspension. Search incident to arrest found OOSTING in possessions of a small quantity of fentanyl and marijuana.

The accused was charged with the following offences:
1. Drive Under Suspension – Contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
2. Cannabis Readily Available – Contrary to Section 12(1) of the Cannabis Control Act
3. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – to wit Fentanyl – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

The OOSTING’s vehicle was towed and impounded. He was released on an undertaking and summons with a future court date.
